The Fan Circle International was founded in 1975 by a group of individuals who wanted to ensure that fans continued to receive proper recognition both as historic fashion accessories and as contemporary practical and collectible objects.
The Society encourages research which is published in its twice yearly bulletin Fans, and brings a knowledge of fans to a wider public through its educational programme. The society’s diverse membership is spread throughout the world.

Benefits of Membership

The Fan Circle’s members come from every walk of life. Whether you are a professional, an amateur, a collector, or simply a fan enthusiast, you can be sure of a warm welcome.

As a member you will be invited to participate in our Annual General Meeting either in person or on-line. For those who can attend we normally host an ‘AGM weekend’ which includes visits to fan collections, a lecture programme and an opportunity to buy or sell fans. Other visits and events are arranged throughout the year, including an online programme of talks.

Membership also includes the twice yearly bulletin, Fans, a twice-yearly digital Newsletter and regular emailed news and information. Back copies of all bulletins and newsletters are available in the Members’ Area of the website.
